Certified Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform evaluations and suggest modifications to billed services for medical records to guarantee precision and adherence to coding standards and regulations.

• Execute DRG validation based on clinical documentation and coding practices.

• Review and audit billed services, proposing corrections related to clinical documentation.

• Support payer and government audits concerning billed services.

• Implement new coding guidelines and codes while maintaining proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.

• Achieve daily accuracy and productivity benchmarks.

• Work in collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of services and clarity in clinical documentation.

• Generate comprehensive documentation and reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• One or more required credentials: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through AHIMA; or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) through AAPC.

• A minimum of 1 year of inpatient medical coding experience, including DRG validation work.

• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

• Capability to produce detailed and comprehensive documentation and reports.

• Successful completion of job-related pre-employment assessments.

• Preferred: experience in coding or medical billing quality control.

• Comfortable with remote work settings and virtual collaboration tools.

• Ability to meet physical demands, including extended periods of sitting, computer use, and telephone communication.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
