Certified Coder – Anesthesia

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Codes anesthesia charge tickets.

• Reviews CPT, ICD-10, ASA, and HCPCS coding on charge tickets.

• Examines anesthesia records to ensure supporting documentation for charge tickets is accurate.

• Assesses medical records for necessary supporting documentation related to charge tickets.

• Identifies cosmetic and/or prepaid cases, ensuring that two tickets are generated: one for insurance and another for patient responsibility.

• Delivers coded charts to the designated box for transfer to the billing department.

• Provides assistance to the Billing and AR Department as required.

• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• CCS-P or CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification from AAPC or AHIMA.

• Preferred minimum of 2 years of coding experience in a healthcare environment.

• Proficient knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, ASA, and HCPCS coding.

• Required background in medical terminology.

• Competence in computer applications, including MS Word and MS Excel.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff.

• Must possess a friendly demeanor and be a team-oriented individual.

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
