This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Provide support for our vital Lifeline products by leveraging your medical billing and collection expertise to secure maximum reimbursement while fostering solid relationships with insurance providers and clients.
• Accurately and promptly obtain and enter Medicaid authorizations to ensure the release of clean claims.
• Review claims to verify the accuracy of procedures, diagnoses, demographic, and insurance details.
• Acquire and input equipment upgrades and correspondence from payer agencies.
• Assess and rectify all claims/charge denials and edits communicated through Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and other forms of communication.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable days to ensure they remain within the levels set by management.
• Proactively communicate any identified billing issues.
• Conduct timely follow-ups on billing and claims discrepancies as indicated by the payer.
• Read and interpret insurance Explanation of Benefits.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from agencies, case managers, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders.
• Regularly participate in monthly staff meetings and in-house training sessions.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
• An Associate's Degree in Medical Billing and Coding or Accounting is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, ideally with Medicaid and Managed Care reimbursement.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding as well as medical terminology.
• Strong technical skills with Excel and various software, including but not limited to: Billing Software, MS Office, and Insurance Portals.
• High aptitude for learning new programs, system integrations, and business processes.
• Excellent customer service abilities accompanied by strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage relationships with diverse insurance payers and agencies.
• A strong work ethic with a proven history of accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
• Ability to think independently, manage multiple tasks, possess strong problem-solving skills, and maintain a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
