Certified Coder, Abstractor – Health Information Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Certified Coder/Abstractor is tasked with reviewing patient records and accurately assigning the appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes, while ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• A Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in Healthcare, Healthcare Information Management, Administration, or a related field is preferred.

• One or more of the following certifications is required: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA).

• Completion of a recognized Coding/Abstractor education program is essential.

• A minimum of 2 years of coding experience in an acute care environment is required.
