This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Oversee the appeals process for unpaid claims within the Central Business Office.
• Conduct daily reviews and appeals of unpaid claims.
• Execute follow-up tasks on claims that have been appealed.
• Collaborate with insurance carriers to address issues related to appeals.
• Deliver feedback concerning coding errors and updates to the coding department.
• Analyze remittances to confirm that accurate payments have been received.
• Assess denials for correctness.
• Collect necessary information to streamline the appeal process.
• Finalize and print daily batch proofs.
• Make necessary charge adjustments in the practice management system.
• Participate in continuing education programs related to coding.
• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess and maintain a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC, or a CCA, CCS, or CCS-P certification from AHIMA.
• A minimum of 3 years of coding experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with medical insurance is required.
• Must be able to work from home in Kentucky (KY 40601).
• Must maintain the required coding certification.
• Full-time employment opportunity.
• First shift hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
