Certification Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the planning and execution of certification for aircraft systems in line with 14 CFR Part 25.

• Analyze and implement FAA regulations, policies, and guidance materials relevant to assigned systems.

• Collaborate closely with various engineering disciplines to ensure that certification requirements are effectively transformed into clear, actionable design and verification needs.

• Coordinate and facilitate compliance demonstrations, which include analysis, inspections, ground tests, and flight tests.

• Engage with the FAA, DERs, or other certification bodies under the direction of senior certification leadership.

• Monitor certification challenges, risks, and assumptions; assist in resolving these through technical and regulatory collaboration.

• Support conformity activities and conduct reviews of certification documents for precision and regulatory adherence.

• Take part in design reviews (PDR, CDR), safety assessments, and certification readiness evaluations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree.

• 5 to 10 years of experience in aircraft certification (TC/ATC/STC) and airworthiness.

• Hands-on experience with 14 CFR Part 25 and/or Part 23 certification programs.

• Proven experience leading the certification processes in one of the following system domains:

• Propulsion systems.

• Electrical power generation and distribution.

• Flight control systems (both mechanical and fly-by-wire).

• Mechanical systems (such as hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental control, landing gear, etc.).

• Familiarity with the application of certification guidance, including but not limited to:

• FAA Orders (e.g., 8110 series, 8130 series).

• Advisory Circulars related to systems, safety, and compliance demonstrations.
