This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and uphold all policies and procedures related to CDI education and training, as well as CDI reference materials.
• Facilitate training sessions and evaluate CDI understanding of the presented materials.
• Suggest improvements for the creation of CDI resources and the development of policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain a standardized CDI operations orientation program, reporting the CDS's progress to CDI leadership throughout the orientation and training phases.
• Act as the subject matter expert in medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, reimbursement models, public reporting of patient outcomes, quality measures of patient care, and the analysis of coded data pertaining to revenue cycle compliance.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or a related Healthcare field - Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related Healthcare field - Preferred
• 7 years of Acute Care Nursing experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree - Required
• 3 years of Direct CDI experience - Required
• 3 years of EPIC/EHR experience - Required
• 2 years of experience as a Trainer/Auditor - Preferred
• Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) - Required within 180 days
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Preferred
• Ability to present information in an organized and creative manner that is clear and easy to understand - Required
• Patient and adaptable trainer who modifies methods to cater to individual learning preferences - Required
