• Create and implement reservoir simulation models to assess CO₂ injection effectiveness, plume movement, pressure response, storage efficiency, and long-term containment for Class VI and Class II initiatives.
• Assist in the establishment of Engineering Well Designs (EWDs) for CO₂ injection and monitoring wells through comprehensive reservoir engineering analysis.
• Deliver technical reservoir engineering assessments to facilitate CCUS project evaluations, feasibility studies, and commercial development opportunities that align with EQT's CCUS strategy.
• Examine and interpret field test data, injection performance, pressure transient behavior, and production response to calibrate reservoir models and enhance predictive capabilities.
• Measure and update CO₂ storage capacity, reserves, and resource estimates utilizing reservoir simulation, geological characterization, and operational data.
• Enhance EQT's technical expertise in CO₂ storage and enhanced recovery (ER) reservoir modeling by implementing benchmarking, workflow development, and incorporating industry best practices.
• Oversee reservoir modeling and simulation initiatives for Class II enhanced recovery projects and related CO₂ storage in depleted Marcellus and Utica reservoirs.
• Construct static and dynamic reservoir models to assess injectivity, containment, pressure management, recovery performance, and long-term storage behavior.
• Produce injection and production forecasts to aid in well design, operational planning, workover requirements, and commercial assessments.
• Conduct reservoir engineering analyses for Class VI geological storage projects, encompassing pressure modeling, plume migration evaluation, and storage optimization.
• Analyze and interpret outcomes from CCUS field pilots and injection tests, including model calibration, uncertainty evaluation, and technical reporting.
• Collaborate with Geoscience, Completions, and Reservoir Engineering teams to integrate data and enhance subsurface comprehension and model precision.
• Engage with external technical consultants, research institutions, and industry collaborators on reservoir simulation research and subsurface evaluations.
• At least 5 years of reservoir engineering experience with proven expertise in reservoir simulation, forecasting, and subsurface analysis; experience in both unconventional and conventional reservoirs is desirable.
• A Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Direct experience with CO₂ storage, enhanced recovery, or gas reservoir development projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of reservoir modeling for Class II and/or Class VI applications, including injection forecasting, pressure management, and storage capacity estimation.
• Familiarity with the Class VI permitting process and requirements, along with experience in supporting the preparation of Class VI permit applications, including necessary modeling and technical documentation.
• Proficient in dynamic simulation tools and integrated reservoir characterization workflows.
• Experience in supporting injection well design, injectivity assessment, and workover planning.
• The selected candidate will be assigned to the role that best aligns with their skills and level of experience.
