Category Manager, Direct Materials – Raw Materials for Drug Development & Manufacturing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with various internal teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, TDS, Quality, Compliance, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs to strategize, manage, and implement cross-functional sourcing and category initiatives.

• Convert stakeholder needs into sourcing and execution actions that align with category strategies, which involves defining the scope, timelines, deliverables, and interdependencies.

• Assist in resolving and escalating issues related to supplier performance, quality, or delivery challenges.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of supplier capabilities, capacity, and overall financial health.

• Leverage spend analytics and market intelligence tools to pinpoint opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

• Collaborate with the Legal team to negotiate supplier contracts that fulfill stakeholder and business requirements.

• Build and sustain robust supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and manage ongoing supplier relationship activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, finance, supply chain, or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or similar roles, with a minimum of 1-3 years in the biotech, regulated medical devices, or life sciences sectors.

• A foundational understanding of procurement processes, which includes sourcing, contracting, and supplier management.

• Basic knowledge of laboratory and GMP manufacturing processes, regulations, and the change management process.

• Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Capability to work efficiently in cross-functional and global team settings.
