Category Manager – Building & Construction Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Drive the development, enhancement, and management of America's Construction Services Categories, including Furniture, Flooring & Equipment (FF&E) and Moving, along with related suppliers.

• Fulfill organizational objectives through strategic category initiatives.

• Capitalize on scale and cultivate supplier partnerships.

• Discover and introduce market innovations.

• Assist client solutions and deliver overall value to stakeholders in alignment with all JLL client-managed expenditures.

• Design, develop, and implement global category management processes.

• Create a strategic roadmap for supplier relationship management across forthcoming categories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a relevant discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in procurement-related roles.

• Experience in the construction category (furniture, flooring, etc.) is advantageous.

• MBA is a plus.

• In-depth understanding of contracts and contract language with the ability to negotiate Terms and Conditions, pricing, and strategic pricing for designated categories.

• Subject matter expert in assigned building and construction categories.

• Proven track record of achieving results in demanding environments.

• Proficient in sourcing with a demonstrated capacity to manage change effectively.

• Established ability to foster strategic supplier relationships and collaborate with senior business executives and procurement leadership.

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Outstanding communication abilities, both oral and written.

• Collaborative and influential approach with a strong emphasis on teamwork.

• Capability to present and advocate for initiatives and/or innovative ideas.

• Ability to operate on a regional scale and across various time zones.

• Proficient PC skills, with expertise in MS applications and a strong capability to manage large volumes of data and generate reports.

• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
