This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of comprehensive category insights support for Kroger and Target, crafting and implementing insight-driven strategies across the portfolio to meet sales and profit goals.
• Act as the category consultant for Kroger’s vegetable category, spearheading in-depth analytical and strategic collaboration with the customer, which includes direct engagement with the category buyer, advanced diagnostics, and managing assortment and space optimization to shape category strategy and performance.
• Create and present insights, analyses, and category assessments that evaluate performance, pinpoint opportunities, and convert findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Utilize diverse data sources—including syndicated, retailer loyalty, and internal data—and leverage 84.51° (Stratum and Market 6) to produce actionable shopper and business insights for both customer-facing initiatives and internal projects.
• Design, sustain, and continuously enhance reporting and analytics while assessing and measuring the impact of key initiatives, integrating learnings to refine strategies and enhance business outcomes.
• Collaborate with sales leadership to uncover and activate growth opportunities spanning innovation, assortment, shelving, pricing, and promotions.
• Support essential business processes including category reviews, Joint Business Planning (JBP), and ad hoc analyses; work closely with Sales and the Category Insights team, traveling as necessary to assist customer engagement and business priorities.
• Cultivate and sustain strong, consultative relationships with key stakeholders to influence decision-making and execution.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Planning & Insights, Marketing, Omni Activation, Consumer Insights, and Supply Chain to provide integrated, insight-driven solutions.
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities, clearly communicating implications and suggested actions, while effectively prioritizing efforts to focus on high-impact work.
• Serve as a trusted thought partner, presenting innovative, insight-driven ideas to stimulate business growth.
• Exhibit strong ownership, curiosity, and initiative, proactively spotting opportunities to streamline processes, enhance working methods, and improve overall team effectiveness.
• Actively build capabilities and share best practices to elevate team performance and ensure consistent, scalable execution.
• Provide adaptable support across additional customers or categories as business needs change.
• BA/BS degree is required.
• 3-5 years of relevant business experience in the CPG industry with a supplier, retailer, or broker.
• Prior experience in Category Management is essential.
• Advanced proficiency in Retailer POS, Syndicated and Panel data, Retail Link, Microsoft Excel, Nielsen and/or Circana, as well as proficiency in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Skilled in utilizing, analyzing, and interpreting data from 84/51.
• Strong analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional data visualization and storytelling skills.
• Familiarity with space management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude with a strong focus on teamwork.
• Creative thinker capable of articulating and presenting ideas and solutions.
• Experience working with Kroger is preferred.
• Experience as a category captain or advisor is preferred.
