Catastrophe Property Claims Examiner III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Investigate, assess, and resolve claims by utilizing technical expertise and interpersonal skills to facilitate fair and timely claim settlements.

• Adjust reserves and offer recommendations to ensure that reserving practices align with company policies.

• Accurately enter claim transactions in a clear and concise manner.

• Review claims evaluated by independent adjusters, including additional investigation of questionable claims, verification of coverage, and prompt issuance of payments to policyholders.

• Conduct daily reviews of claim files to ensure that status letters are dispatched to policyholders in compliance with Department of Insurance regulations.

• Process and pay claims within the specified authority level.

• Oversee independent adjusters to ensure compliance with CFP IA Guidelines.

• Ensure adherence to the Department of Insurance regulations and Company policies and procedures.

• Draft accurate and complete correspondence to policyholders. Engage with insured parties and/or others to obtain missing information.

• Negotiate settlements promptly, ensuring that they accurately reflect the actual losses incurred while safeguarding the insurer against invalid claims.

• Consult with Claims Management and legal counsel regarding claims that involve litigation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in MS-Office applications (particularly Word and Excel) is mandatory.

• At least 2 years of property claims experience along with outstanding customer service skills.

• Certification in CEA and Fair Claims Settlement Practices.

• A total of 5 years of claims experience, with a minimum of 2 years managing homeowner claims exceeding $300,000.
