• Engage in the development of national strategies for launching new products while coordinating the tactical execution at the regional level.
• Deliver presentations on newly approved products post-launch to ensure that customers are educated and informed, aiding Account Managers in their sales efforts.
• Provide education and training to physicians and clinical staff, including operating room personnel, on Alcon ATIOL and base lenses to guarantee successful patient outcomes. Address a wide range of inquiries regarding applications and clinical techniques related to ATIOL and base lens implants. Offer ongoing assistance with patient selection, biometry calculations, keratometry, IOL selection, and reimbursement processes.
• Exhibit clinical expertise and product knowledge to customers (Physicians, Nurses, Technicians) during each presentation, regardless of previous relationships, enhancing Alcon’s reputation in the surgical domain.
• Promote Alcon’s products (IOLs and new offerings) as industry-leading, helping customers comprehend the products' advantages from both clinical and business perspectives through focused account planning.
• Assist Account Managers in executing business plans through impactful presentations and identifying additional training and support requirements for customers.
• Complete all administrative responsibilities promptly, including but not limited to updating CRM systems.
• IOL Specialists, through their expertise and dedication, significantly contribute to the way Alcon is perceived by customers.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and under the guidance of the ASD’s/Associate Director of Marketing, IOL PS will aid 20-25 key target accounts in maximizing their business potential via practice development initiatives and clinical insight, leading to increased sales of Alcon Intraocular Lens Products and associated diagnostic equipment.
• Deliver practice development services to assist target accounts in preparing for the successful integration of Alcon Refractive IOL technologies. This includes customer service audits, operational efficiency and scheduling reviews, strategic planning, and internal/external marketing and communications.
• Ensure effective use of company resources and funds while optimizing time management.
• Provide practice development services to prepare clinics for refractive technologies.
• Support regional marketing strategies and limited market launches.
• Work in collaboration with Account Managers to establish regional targets and complete CRM-related tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Preferred: B.Sc., B. Comm.
• 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical, or surgical sales; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Clinical knowledge and understanding of cataract/refractive procedures.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and business acumen skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
• Must be located in the Greater Vancouver or Victoria Island area.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% - Regular travel within the territory; additional travel across North America may be necessary. Evening and weekend travel for meetings, conferences, and operating room support may be required.
• Experience in surgical ophthalmology sales.
• Experience in practice development or launching new technologies.
