This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Manages a designated caseload (subject to fluctuation) of post-release services (Levels I & II) exclusively.
• May assist in the preparation of comprehensive home study reports to evaluate risk, safety, and suitable placement of children.
• Adheres to US and ORR policies, procedures, and mandated timelines.
• Collaborates with care providers to verify and assess if additional information is necessary for determining successful sponsorship.
• Evaluates the potential sponsor’s capability to offer appropriate care and a secure living environment for the child.
• Assesses, identifies, verifies, and provides recommendations regarding areas where extra support, resources, or information may be required to fulfill a child’s needs and ensure a safe environment.
• Maintains telephone communication and conducts virtual and in-person home visits with children and sponsors.
• Employs trauma-informed approaches and brief therapeutic techniques to engage with children and their sponsors.
• Continues ongoing case management services through assessments, planning, evaluation, facilitation, and psychoeducation for children and their sponsors.
• Maintains proper documentation, secures confidential records, and safeguards personally identifiable information in accordance with program regulations.
• Identifies and reports concerns related to children and sponsors, significant life events, and major incidents to the program and ORR.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and informs child protective services of any instances of abuse or neglect.
• Engages in training, attends meetings, and upholds quality improvement initiatives as recommended.
• A Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or another behavioral science or social service field.
• Must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in case management.
• Proficient in writing professional and comprehensive assessment reports.
• Experience working with immigrant populations.
• Background in providing trauma-informed clinical interventions for youth.
• Familiarity with family preservation, kinship care, trauma-informed practices, child welfare policies and procedures, and relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with families, caseworkers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (verbal and written).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
• A valid driver's license and availability to travel for in-person visits and to various areas or regions nationally.
