This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Oversee the card operations team, ensuring that deadlines are achieved and the quality of delivery is maintained.
• Engage in the daily financial reconciliation process for card products (both issuers and acquirers), confirming that operations accurately reflect the accounting-financial status.
• Supervise and manage the volumes processed and settled for card transactions.
• Identify and address discrepancies in authorization files, settlement files, refunds/reversals, chargebacks, and financial settlements from card brands and acquirers.
• Conduct daily closings to review and reconcile financial balances along with suspense/transit accounts.
• Oversee the payment schedule to card brands and keep track of balances associated with the issuer card product.
• Foster operational relationships with acquirers and card brands.
• Collaborate with internal departments: Treasury, Accounting, Product, and Technology, to resolve discrepancies and promote continuous improvement.
• Assist in the monthly closing process, ensuring that all financial events are reconciled appropriately.
• Design and implement financial flows for new card operations.
• Engage in projects aimed at onboarding new card brands and integrating systems.
• Discover opportunities and spearhead process automation initiatives utilizing no-code/low-code tools and AI.
• Generate management reports and present area KPIs to management and partner teams.
• Keep track of regulatory and operational updates from card brands, evaluating their effects on reconciliation processes.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Ensure thorough documentation and mapping of the area’s processes.
• Bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed) in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
• Prior experience in payment institutions and/or financial companies.
• Extensive experience in reconciling card brands and/or acquirers.
• Demonstrated expertise in card reconciliation.
• Understanding of card issuer flows (authorization events, settlement, chargebacks).
• Proficient in financial reconciliation routines with ERP systems.
• Strong grasp of accounting-financial flows.
• Familiarity with external card reconciliation tools.
• Knowledge of applying artificial intelligence to financial processes.
• Experience in payment institutions or companies within the payments ecosystem.
