
Capability Lead – High Integrity Software

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate a strategy for capability growth and establish global alignment for high-integrity software and controls engineering.
• Oversee performance management and facilitate career planning and development for Controls software engineers.
• Provide mentorship to engineers to enhance their technical skills and project performance.
• Foster technical excellence in engineering deliverables.
• Review and endorse technical outputs, such as engineering documentation and drawings.
• Ensure adherence to product certification standards, including RTCA/DO-178 and ARP4754.
• Take ownership of and drive enhancements to development processes.
• Assess the software engineering workload in collaboration with development teams, program management, and clients.
• Execute specialist-level project tasks to develop and certify control systems.
• Work alongside capability leaders and Chiefs on strategic plans for Controls.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with over 5 years of software or systems experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 3+ years of experience, or a PhD in STEM.
• Experience in software, including traditional and model-based software, or systems experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
• Preferred: Over 10 years of experience in developing and integrating embedded software systems for gas turbine engines or similar safety-critical systems.
• Previous leadership experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with aerospace regulations and standards, including ARP 4754, DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160.
• Proven experience in demonstrating compliance with and drafting process sets for industry standards.
• Background in project management, data reporting, budget control, and cost management.
• Experience in presenting reports or communications to senior or executive stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet competing deadlines.
• Knowledge of aerospace/military verification and certification requirements, including SOI audits.
