Cantonese/Mandarin VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Receive calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during a call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which you will be interpreting (specifically healthcare and medical) - training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your designated team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Cantonese/Mandarin".

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.

• Must meet technical requirements for remote work.
