This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Identify relevant reportable cases for cancer registry abstract entry in accordance with national and central registry guidelines.
• Abstract both analytic and non-analytic cases following the standards set by the Commission on Cancer.
• Conduct annual follow-up reviews for all active patients.
• Interact with patients and designated contacts with discretion and professionalism.
• Manage office interactions efficiently and courteously.
• Share information appropriately with other organizations while adhering to HIPAA treatment, payment, and operations regulations.
• Maintain work records, policies, and procedures diligently.
• Achieve departmental quality, performance, and production standards.
• Execute software edits to ensure quality and complete necessary fields.
• Carry out assigned professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Associate's Degree in a health-related discipline.
• Certified Tumor Registrar certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA).
• Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Capability to identify relevant reportable cases for abstract entry in compliance with governing cancer registry authorities.
• Proficiency in abstracting both analytic and non-analytic cases according to the Commission on Cancer standards.
• Ability to conduct annual follow-up reviews for all active patients.
• Skill in maintaining work records, policies, and procedures.
• Competence in meeting departmental quality, performance, and production benchmarks.
• Proficient in using software edits to ensure quality and fill essential fields.
• Capability to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies required for the assigned unit or department.
• Experience with Epic and Cancer Registry software is preferred.
