This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Evaluate CAM programs created using Autodesk Fusion 360
• Analyze machining strategies in relation to CAD models, stock, machine setups, and tooling
• Review toolpath selection, sequencing, parameters, and overall machining approaches
• Identify programming decisions that are unsafe, inefficient, or technically unsuitable
• Review and assess 4-axis and 5-axis CNC toolpaths
• Evaluate tool orientation, indexing, simultaneous machining strategies, and machine accessibility
• Detect collisions, clearance issues, and problematic machine movements
• Assess setups for practical production feasibility
• Develop structured 10-criterion grading rubrics for Fusion 360 CAM programs
• Formulate objective, text-based, and independently verifiable evaluation criteria
• Evaluate tooling choices, feeds and speeds, workholding, stock, and machining sequences
• Review various machining operations including roughing, finishing, drilling, and contouring
• Confirm collision avoidance, tool reach, machine limits, setup constraints, and production workflows
• Document verification rationale for each rubric criterion
• Review sample CAM solutions and articulate pass/fail results
• Identify gaps in information or assumptions impacting machining feasibility
• Assess evaluation criteria for clarity, objectivity, and technical precision
• Over 5 years of professional CAM programming experience
• Extensive hands-on experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 CAM
• Current access to a Fusion 360 license
• Proven ability to program 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC toolpaths
• Strong practical knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, workholding, setups, and production limitations
• Capability to determine whether a CAM program would operate safely and reliably on a real machine
• Experience in interpreting CAD models and converting them into effective machining strategies
• Solid understanding of collision avoidance, machine limits, tool accessibility, and process sequencing
• Exceptional written English skills and the ability to clearly explain technical decisions
