CAD / PCB / 3D Design Engineer – AI Evaluation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create realistic and challenging engineering tasks that include prompts, input files, and automated grading systems.

• Transform real design projects into self-sufficient tasks utilizing STEP files, KiCad projects, .blend files, and various meshes.

• Develop and refine tasks using Claude Code, managing versions through Git.

• Execute tasks with cutting-edge AI models and evaluate the transcripts generated by these models.

• Identify and resolve vulnerabilities and shortcuts to ensure tasks are challenging for valid reasons.

• Successfully pass automated quality assurance and peer review processes.

• Document the reasoning behind the creation of synthetic data.

• Participate in onboarding and calibration sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of practical design experience in at least one specialization.

• Professional proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, FreeCAD, or a similar CAD software for the Mechanical CAD specialization.

• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, design rule checks (DRC), electrical rule checks (ERC), footprints, and enclosure fitting using KiCad for the Electronics/PCB specialization.

• Familiarity with scene construction, animation, rigging, physics, and camera operation in headless Blender using Python for the 3D/Spatial-Temporal specialization.

• Proven history of delivering tangible outputs such as fabricated boards, manufactured components, production 3D assets, or published research.

• A portfolio link is required for application submission.

• Proficient in writing Python as part of engineering tasks.

• Comfortable navigating the command line and using Git.

• Capable of evaluating the correctness of design work.

• Availability of at least 20 hours per week, actively engaged for a minimum of 5 days each week.

• Engagement as an independent contractor.

• Must not require H1-B or STEM OPT visa sponsorship.
