This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Product Drawing & CAD Modeling: Convert verbal ideas, rough sketches, and physical prototypes into fully dimensioned, production-ready CAD files (such as SolidWorks or similar) that can be executed by CNC operators, woodworkers, and fabricators without further interpretation.
• Material Specification & Cut Planning: Identify materials for each design (including MDF, hardwood, metal, composites, and other custom materials), create precise cut lists, and document all tolerances and joinery methods to ensure that any qualified shop can carry out the build without back-and-forth communication.
• Prototype Iteration Support: Modify and enhance drawings based on feedback from physical prototypes, making gradual adjustments as designs progress from concept to consumer-ready form.
• Assembly Documentation: Create clear, consumer-friendly assembly guides and diagrams that enable end customers to receive and assemble finished products seamlessly.
• Product Visualization & Marketing Assets: Generate brief illustrative render videos and 3D visual mock-ups of designs intended for pre-order campaigns, deposit collection, and customer-facing marketing ahead of the initial production run.
• Design Library Management: Keep an organized, version-controlled archive of all completed and ongoing designs, facilitating quick retrieval and handoff to fabricators, manufacturers, or new team members as the product catalog grows.
• CAD Software Proficiency: At least 3-5 years of practical experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or a comparable parametric CAD platform, complemented by a robust portfolio of product drawings turned into physical builds.
• CNC & Fabrication Knowledge: Proven understanding of CNC routing, woodworking shop workflows, and metalworking techniques, including how designs should be prepared to be machine-ready without manual interpretation by the operator.
• Material Expertise: Familiarity with wood species, MDF, composites, and mixed materials, including grain direction, structural properties, and sourcing considerations relevant to custom, made-to-order consumer products.
• Product Rendering & Visualization: Proficient in creating 3D renders or short product demonstration videos suitable for pre-sales and marketing, using tools such as KeyShot, Blender, or built-in CAD rendering environments.
• Independent Problem-Solving: Capable of transforming a verbal concept or low-fidelity reference into a complete, buildable file with minimal oversight, asking specific clarifying questions rather than requiring the client to produce drawings.
• Manufacturing Industry Experience: Experience in custom furniture, woodworking, consumer product development, or maker/fabrication environments is highly desirable; familiarity with made-to-order production and small-batch manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Competitive salary
• Opportunity to influence the HR function of a rapidly expanding BPO.
• Collaborate closely with a team of industry leaders who have successfully scaled BPOs in the past.
• Opportunities for career growth and development.
