This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze the quality of interactions with contemporary coding agents such as OpenAI Codex and Claude Code.
• Determine whether AI-generated responses are coherent and if the preambles and reasoning provided are beneficial.
• Evaluate whether outputs demonstrate strong engineering judgment and align with the thought processes of a competent engineer.
• Assess AI-generated coding interactions comprehensively.
• Gauge the usefulness and overall correctness of the outputs.
• Review explanations and reasoning, not solely the code itself.
• Differentiate between varying levels of response quality.
• Deliver clear, constructive feedback on what was effective, what fell short, and what seemed off or misleading.
• Assist in defining exemplary interactions with tools like Cursor.
• Highly skilled software engineer at Staff / Principal level or equivalent experience.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript / JavaScript or Python.
• Practical experience with OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor.
• Extensive knowledge of modern AI-assisted development workflows.
• Capable of evaluating code without the necessity of executing or thoroughly reviewing every line.
• Comfortable providing direct, opinionated feedback.
• Maintains a high standard for what constitutes good engineering.
• Willingness to make subjective yet disciplined assessments.
• Basic background check required.
• Availability to begin ASAP and commit approximately 10–20 hours per week through early May.
• Preferred: experience with Cursor or similar AI-first IDEs.
• Preferred: previous exposure to prompt design or evaluation processes.
• Preferred: experience in mentoring senior engineers or establishing engineering standards.
• $100–$200/hour compensation rate.
• Flexible part-time commitment of around 10–20 hours per week.
• Potential for contract extension.
• Take-home evaluation exercise followed by one behavioral interview as part of the selection process.
