This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Oversee inventory management for MWI Animal Health Distribution Centers pertaining to designated suppliers, focusing on enhancing customer service levels while reducing inventory costs.
• Collaborate with suppliers on a daily basis, representing MWI Animal Health's interests in relation to their policies and actions.
• Source products at optimal prices by assessing item costs, quantity discounts, vendor contracts and programs, cash terms, freight, handling or transportation expenses, delivery timelines, historical demand, seasonal categories, and product availability.
• Manage inventory for assigned vendors to achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Engage in events and meetings with Supplier Representatives.
• Suggest and contribute to enhancements in strategies linked to contracts, programs, and agreements.
• Develop solutions to address tactical procurement, supplier, and distribution center challenges.
• Establish and maintain relationships with MWI Operations to address discrepancies, returns, recalls, and inventory requirements.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with the MWI sales team to enhance customer service, product knowledge, and availability.
• Relay vendor programs, contracts, and issues to the Replenishment Operations Manager or Director.
• Analyze and provide management with recommendations on buying opportunities.
• Resolve issues autonomously.
• Carry out related responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A degree in Supply Management or Supply Chain Logistics is preferred.
• Typically requires two (2) to four (4) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience.
• Experience in Animal Health purchasing is preferred.
• Understanding of basic concepts, practices, and processes in Procurement.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Solid mathematical skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to implement processes that ensure satisfactory audit practices.
• Proficient in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
