• Take charge of the intake and discovery phase for internal data projects, ensuring that all requirements are comprehensively understood and documented prior to engaging development resources.
• Facilitate requirements-gathering meetings with business stakeholders, employing techniques that help uncover needs that stakeholders may struggle to fully express—especially in analytics and BI contexts where desired outcomes often develop through iteration.
• Convert business requirements into precise, development-ready documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, data definitions, and reporting logic that development teams can act upon independently.
• Assist in maintaining a well-groomed and prioritized requirements backlog in partnership with the Technical Project Manager, ensuring that development always has clearly defined tasks ready for execution.
• Act as the continuous point of contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, managing expectations and clearly communicating status, trade-offs, and decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to outline requirements for analytics, business intelligence, and reporting solutions—including KPIs, desired outcomes, and data needs—in a manner that the development team can effectively utilize.
• Aid in stakeholder validation of early builds, prototypes, and draft deliverables to ensure that development has correctly interpreted requirements and to identify gaps before they escalate.
• Recognize gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in requirements early on and address them proactively before they reach the development team.
• Engage in agile ceremonies as necessary, ensuring that user stories remain aligned with stakeholder intent throughout the development process.
• 2–4 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or a similar role focused on requirements.
• Proven ability to gather and document intricate business requirements across various stakeholders or departments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and business needs for technical teams.
• Experience in crafting user stories and acceptance criteria within an agile or agile-adjacent environment.
• Demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities and provide clarity in ambiguous situations.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for tracking requirements and documentation; experience in a Microsoft Teams-based collaborative environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a history of thorough and accurate documentation.
