Business Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• The CSOM analyst is tasked with the analysis and testing of legacy system data within Power BI visualizations.

• Carry out comprehensive evaluations of legacy system data and systems utilized across VA facilities.

• Document legacy data elements that will inform the CSOM data-driven strategy.

• Assess data visualizations intended to illustrate the current state operating model.

• Validate data by comparing it against source system databases utilizing SQL Developer and SQL Server.

• Collaborate closely with VA FMBT and FSC personnel to define and review the CSOM.

• Partner with internal departments (such as healthcare services and IT) and external stakeholders to collect insights and feedback regarding the current state operating model.

• Formulate strategies and initiatives aimed at optimizing existing processes, minimizing inefficiencies, and improving performance.

• Lead ongoing efforts for process enhancement, cost reduction, and quality improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

• Experience in data visualization and testing is essential.

• Background in the healthcare or public sector, ideally with the VA or similar organizations.

• Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Excel and SQL.

• Familiarity with iFCAP, FMS, or other VA financial systems.

• Capability to interpret financial, operational, or system data.

• Familiarity with Power BI is considered an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of change management principles.

• Capacity to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities.

• Extensive knowledge of data analytic tools, with experience in designing, analyzing, and testing Power BI dashboards and visualizations.

• Previous experience assisting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is preferred.

• Knowledge of federal financial systems, compliance, and reporting standards.

• Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power BI or equivalent are desirable.
