Business Development Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Play a key role in CRS’s mission to assist impoverished and vulnerable communities by crafting persuasive, donor-oriented proposals that attract funding for impactful programs.

• Act as the principal writer for concept notes, expressions of interest, and proposals.

• Work closely with the proposal coordinator, technical design lead, sector leads, and other team members and stakeholders to produce well-structured, coherent, and compelling concept notes, expressions of interest, and proposals.

• Oversee communication with the technical design lead and proposal coordinator throughout the proposal development phase to ensure that expectations are met and deadlines are adhered to.

• Take on the role of editor for intricate technical proposals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, international development, or a related field.

• At least eight years of experience in international development, with a minimum of three years dedicated to writing competitive funding proposals or other persuasive, audience-centered technical communications.

• A Master’s degree in English, communications, international development, or a related field is preferred.

• Preferred experience of at least three years in a developing country.

• Significant experience in drafting competitive proposals for various bilateral and multilateral donors across technical sectors, including agriculture, food security, resilience, health, and emergency response.

• Proven experience, especially as a lead writer, in contributing to competitive applications and proposals in programming contexts comparable to those in which CRS operates.

• Experience in leading technical writing and possessing sectoral expertise in one or more of the following areas: agriculture, food security, resilience, health, and emergency response.
