Business Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee critical elements of the public funding lifecycle, which include identifying opportunities, developing concepts, and crafting proposals.

• Identify, evaluate, monitor, filter, and prioritize Calls for Proposals pertinent to Asia Pacific objectives.

• Create initial write-ups for priority conservation initiatives.

• Ensure awareness of funding opportunities, timelines, and the progression of the pipeline throughout the region.

• Participate in internal selection panels and lead the prioritization of chosen proposals.

• Draft, revise, and integrate public funding proposal contributions from various stakeholders.

• Compile proposal components, annexes, donor templates, supporting documents, and compliance materials.

• Prepare concept notes, expressions of interest, and comprehensive proposals.

• Enhance public funding capabilities through the provision of guidance, tools, training, templates, and quality standards.

• Assist with regional public funding reporting and maintain the Asia Pacific public funding pipeline in BBCRM.

• Prepare internal updates, summaries, and briefings for both regional and global stakeholders.

• Facilitate collaboration and the flow of information across country, regional, global, business unit, thematic, finance, grants, legal, and communications teams.

• Participate in proposal development and early-stage project endeavors across multiple concurrent processes.

• Provide proposal writing training to staff as necessary.

• Undertake international travel within Asia Pacific and globally as required.

• May supervise administrative staff, volunteers, interns, or temporary personnel.

• Act as a team leader for assigned projects and coordinate the efforts of others.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in English.

• Experience in presenting to or communicating with business, government, legislative staff, or program leadership.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing multiple complex projects.

• Experience ensuring accountability within programs.

• Communication experience in preparing and presenting project proposals.

• Experience in developing written communications.

• Experience collaborating with corporate or NGO partners and government agencies.

• Familiarity with public funding mechanisms and processes of bilateral/multilateral funders.

• Experience in supporting project design, concept development, and proposal packaging.

• Experience in developing theories of transformational change, result chains, and related methodologies.

• Understanding of conservation, climate, or sustainable development issues in the Asia Pacific region.

• Experience in writing successful public funding proposals.

• Experience coordinating with individuals across different locations and cultures.

• Ability to collaborate across functions and countries within a global organization.

• Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in public funding.

• Experience researching diverse information sources and compiling cohesive reports.

• Ability to meet The Nature Conservancy’s background screening requirements.
