This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and enhance a residential mortgage portfolio while expanding market share through sales and service to external mortgage brokers.
• Seek out new broker relationships and nurture existing ones within a designated geographical area.
• Establish referral sources by building connections with brokerages, broker franchises, and sub-brokers.
• Elevate the visibility of Tru Cooperative Bank and regional brands by engaging in external activities, trade shows, and related events.
• Effectively communicate product offerings, processes, and expectations to mortgage brokers.
• Collaborate with mortgage underwriters, credit services, branches, and various teams.
• Monitor brokerage funding volumes and efficiencies.
• Recommend the initiation or termination of broker relationships as necessary.
• Analyze business data, make informed decisions, and develop business plans.
• Prepare weekly sales logs and appointment schedules including narratives about broker interactions, training sessions, and site visits.
• Collect and share competitive intelligence to assist in product pricing strategies.
• Suggest modifications to products, policies, and industry regulations.
• Present at or engage in training sessions, industry trade shows, and special events.
• Report to the Director of Mortgage Business Development.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–4+ years of relevant industry experience is required.
• Experience in mortgage broker relationship management or mortgage specialist management is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Comfort with public speaking is a must.
• Must be self-directed and highly organized.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software programs is required.
• Demonstrated business development, relationship-building, and sales skills are essential.
• Agile time management skills with the ability to multitask are crucial.
• Ability to adhere to policies and procedures and demonstrate ownership of risk.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight multiple times per month is required.
