Business Development Manager – International Bond & Marine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Accountable for creating and expanding new business opportunities within the property and builders risk sectors.

• Optimizes chances for profitable new business and retention by utilizing business relationships, product expertise, and underwriting skills.

• Enhances territory profitability through exceptional agency and brokerage management, development, and strategic planning.

• Directs a thorough agency and brokerage review process, fostering strong partnerships with Intact underwriters, claims, and loss control personnel.

• Reinforces the distribution network by prospecting for agencies and brokerages, activating new appointments, and revitalizing current agencies in line with territorial strategy.

• Discontinues agency and brokerage contracts when necessary.

• Anticipates broker needs, analyzes market trends, and implements proactive strategies that effectively position Intact.

• Articulates the underwriting appetite and generates qualified business prospects for underwriters.

• Cultivates a disciplined approach to collecting territorial data and crafting a high-quality territorial profile.

• Exhibits a strong understanding of underwriting guidelines while maintaining extensive knowledge of Intact’s operations and product offerings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.

• 7-10 years of experience in the insurance sector and/or business development, with a portion of that time spent in the insurance industry.

• Preference for experience in property or builders risk.

• Experience with independent agencies, brokerages, or business development within the insurance field is desirable.

• CPCU designation is preferred.
