This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Drive lead generation and conversion for container and one-off project lines, develop partner networks, participate in trade fairs, and actively influence TFS strategy and processes.
• Engage in hands-on management of standing container routes, coordinating with disposal and recycling facilities, tracking notification validity, and overseeing financial controlling and invoicing.
• Discover and evaluate new TFS opportunities globally, focusing on both container shipments and customized one-off projects.
• Establish and maintain a structured deal pipeline from initial inquiry to signed contract, collaborating with the Tenders and International Project Development teams.
• Foster and sustain relationships with waste generators, brokers, treatment facilities, and competent authorities throughout Europe and worldwide.
• Oversee the operational aspects of the BFS standing container business, with plans for expansion into new routes and regions.
• Coordinate with disposal and recycling facilities regarding shipment scheduling, documentation, and quality issues.
• Supervise the monitoring of Basel Convention notification validity across active routes and manage the renewal process.
• Assist in defining and executing the TFS strategy alongside the Managing Director, contributing to the long-term vision and growth of the department.
• Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with treatment facilities globally, including regular onsite visits.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability Management, Business Development, International Trade, Logistics Management, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or project management within an international context.
• A background in hazardous waste, environmental consulting, international logistics, trade compliance, or a related field is highly advantageous.
• A verifiable commercial track record demonstrating closed deals, signed contracts, and established routes or projects; actual ownership of outcomes, not just advisory exposure.
• Proficient in managing deals from start to finish (inquiry to contract) and projects from initiation to invoicing, with structured follow-through.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German, Spanish, French, or Arabic is a significant advantage given the regions BFS operates in.
• Familiarity with the Basel Convention, EU Waste Shipment Regulation 1013/2006, and dangerous goods regulations (ADR, IMDG), including packaging and shipment of dangerous goods.
• Strong skills in Microsoft 365, experience with CRM systems, and a willingness to engage with AI-supported workflows (Claude, automation tools).
