This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• The role of Business Development Directors involves identifying and engaging companies that are not currently clients of Gartner, within a designated geographic area.
• Recognize essential buying centers to broaden the base of new clients.
• Apply key best practices to successfully drive and secure new business opportunities.
• Develop and effectively manage a list of new contacts and clients to enhance business development efforts.
• Partner with internal resources and an external network to prioritize and penetrate essential accounts.
• The main focus is on driving sales within new logos and new client accounts.
• Employ account planning and time management tools to boost research revenue towards an assigned quota.
• Establish and nurture executive relationships with clients to become their trusted advisor.
• Responsibilities include meeting quota expectations based on the allocated territory.
• Transition clients to existing Account Executives within 30 days of closing, ensuring continued Gartner service.
• Achieve mastery and consistently execute Gartner’s internal sales methodologies, products, and services.
• Maintain forecast accuracy on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• A minimum of 15 years of demonstrated consultative sales experience in high technology (services or software) with large multinational corporations.
• Capability to quickly establish credibility with new clients.
• Proven success in developing new business by effectively assembling prospect lists and converting prospect companies into clients.
• Demonstrated experience in closing complex enterprise-wide sales solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think and act quickly in dynamic situations.
• Exceptional ability to influence others within the organization without a direct reporting relationship.
• Proficiency in articulating a compelling value proposition at the executive level.
• A comprehensive understanding of technology buying centers.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills tailored for executive audiences.
• Fluent proficiency in German.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred.
