
Business Controller – Procurement and Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Oversee and evaluate global expenditure, procurement expenses, warehousing fees, and customs tariffs.
• Detect discrepancies between actual spending and budget/forecasts.
• Aggregate and assess spending data from various departments to uncover synergy possibilities and negotiation advantages.
• Establish and track global KPIs (Actual vs. Budget, Price Variance, Cost Avoidance, and Net Savings).
• Spearhead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, ensuring alignment between operational strategies and group financial objectives.
• Review end-to-end processes to remove bottlenecks, standardize and digitize workflows, and apply Lean methodologies.
• Serve as the financial authority for make-vs-buy assessments, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, and supplier risk evaluations.
• Collaborate with procurement to assess suppliers, ensuring compliance with contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Propel the optimization of processes and the adoption of advanced digital tools for real-time expenditure analytics.
• Compile regular financial reports and deliver actionable insights to leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in operational controlling, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Expertise in S/4HANA and advanced Excel capabilities.
• Familiarity with Power BI is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory (experience in a multinational context); additional languages are beneficial.
• Exceptional communication abilities, with the capacity to engage stakeholders at all levels and across diverse cultures.
• A "challenger" mindset—the skill to influence senior stakeholders and offer constructive, data-driven feedback.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, combined with a practical approach to problem-solving.
