This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Create and revise contract frameworks and templates for digital distribution agreements, licensing deals, and tailored client and partner contracts.
• Evaluate, edit, and assist in negotiating agreements, bringing any new or high-risk issues to the attention of the Director.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to integrate business requirements into contractual clauses.
• Oversee legal workflows and updates throughout the contract lifecycle utilizing project management tools.
• Monitor the status of contract projects and deliver timely updates to the Director and relevant teams.
• Perform entity verification, KYC/KYB diligence, sanctions/PEP screening, and identity checks.
• Support Legal and Finance in deal diligence and provide insights regarding contracting parties, rights ownership, client history, and account details.
• Assist with legal and operational initiatives, research, documentation, and compliance-related projects.
• Ensure uniformity in legal terminology and formatting across all documents.
• Keep accurate records of templates, revisions, and finalized documents.
• Investigate trends and emerging laws related to operations, contracting, copyright, and other legal issues.
• Communicate legal policies, processes, and procedures to internal stakeholders.
• Offer support on escalated legal issues.
• Regularly update the Director on contracting activities.
• Execute additional projects as assigned by the Business and Legal Affairs Team.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Three years of post-graduate experience in business and legal affairs, contracts, or a transactional setting.
• Proficiency in Monday.com, Dropbox, Google Workspace, HubSpot, and similar contract, project, and business management tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a high-volume setting.
• Self-driven and proactive, demonstrating ownership and initiative.
• Capability to accept feedback, adapt swiftly, and take on increasing responsibilities for projects.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team in a remote work setting.
• High ethical standards and sound judgment in managing confidential or sensitive information.
• Candidates must currently reside in Florida.
• J.D. or Paralegal Certificate with relevant experience, familiarity with the music/entertainment/technology industry, music licensing, and copyright, as well as proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese are advantageous, but not mandatory.
• Remote work flexibility.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Opportunities for increasingly independent drafting and negotiation as the Legal function expands.
