Business Analyst, Tableau, Data Visualization Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist in gathering requirements across various business process areas, documenting reporting necessities, data inputs, definitions, and stakeholder expectations.

• Evaluate source data, pinpoint data gaps, and align data fields with reporting outputs.

• Design, update, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, data sources, and visualization assets.

• Generate operational, management, and executive reporting views utilizing Tableau and other visualization/reporting tools.

• Convert business requirements into dashboard designs, metrics, filters, and reporting logic.

• Support testing, validation, defect tracking, and user feedback during the development of dashboards and UAT.

• Compile requirements documents, data mappings, reporting specifications, runbooks, and transition materials.

• Discover opportunities to enhance or automate reporting processes, including scheduled refreshes, distribution, alerting, and data validation checks.

• Collaborate with project leads, technical teams, and stakeholders to support project deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of practical experience in data reporting, business intelligence, and dashboard development.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Tableau, including dashboard creation, workbook updates, data source configuration, and report validation.

• Familiarity with at least one other visualization, reporting, or front-end tool such as Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Domo, ThoughtSpot, MicroStrategy, Excel-based reporting, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a keen understanding of business processes, data flows, and reporting requirements.

• Experience working with SQL and enterprise data environments.

• Capability to gather requirements and translate business needs into reporting or dashboard specifications.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to validate data, recognize inconsistencies, and assist in testing activities.

• Comfortable navigating through discovery, design, development support, testing, and deployment phases.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Experience with SAP HANA or comparable enterprise data platforms is preferred.

• Experience in supporting operational, management, or executive reporting is preferred.

• Familiarity with reporting process automation is advantageous.

• Experience in creating documentation for dashboards, data definitions, reporting logic, and transition/knowledge transfer is preferred.
