• Lead discovery sessions and workshops with underwriting, claims, actuarial, operations, and other stakeholders to gather, clarify, and prioritize business requirements.
• Document and uphold current and future process flows (including handoffs, exceptions, and controls), while identifying opportunities for simplification, standardization, and enhancement.
• Convert stakeholder requirements into comprehensive functional documentation (e.g., business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, business rules, process flows, acceptance criteria, and supporting materials) that facilitate configuration and operational execution.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to clarify requirements, assess options and tradeoffs, and ensure that delivered modifications align with business objectives and are practical for daily operations.
• Identify operational impacts (people/process/policy), assist with procedure updates, and help teams prepare for new workflows and system alterations.
• Plan and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining scenarios, coordinating business testers, validating results against acceptance criteria, and confirming readiness for deployment.
• Communicate decisions, impacts, risks, and timelines; create stakeholder-facing updates and user guidance; and provide training and change management support as necessary.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst (or a similar position) focusing on technological projects, preferably within the insurance or financial services sectors.
• Must possess practical insurance experience in supporting policy administration and insurance operations (e.g., policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, billing, servicing, workflows, and user support).
• Understanding of property and casualty insurance processes (e.g., underwriting, rating, quoting, binding, policy administration, and servicing).
• Preferred: CPCU or other relevant insurance credentials; CBAP and/or PMP certification.
• Experience working with configurable insurance or enterprise platforms (e.g., policy administration, rating, CRM, workflow), catering to business configuration needs through precise functional requirements.
• Strong skills in facilitation and documentation (e.g., leading workshops, process mapping, business rules, procedures, and requirements traceability).
• Exceptional analytical and detail-oriented problem-solving abilities, with a talent for distilling complex information into clear, actionable documentation.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and organizational levels.
• Proven track record of driving functional outcomes through stakeholder alignment, clear requirements, UAT coordination, and operational readiness (communications, procedures, and training support).
