Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Gather, document, analyze, and validate business requirements through interviews with stakeholders, collaborative sessions, research, and product discovery efforts.

• Utilize Claude and other AI tools to expedite the creation of initial draft documentation while independently reviewing, refining, and validating all results.

• Convert business and customer requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and measurable acceptance criteria.

• Maintain a well-organized backlog in collaboration with the Product Manager and leverage Claude for gap analysis prior to development.

• Document current and future state workflows, business rules, system behaviors, and product interactions.

• Serve as a liaison for scope, timelines, and delivery updates.

• Facilitate collaborative sessions across business units, product teams, and development groups.

• Clearly communicate changes, decisions, and the reasoning behind them.

• Create test scenarios for QA/UAT and monitor delivery against acceptance criteria.

• Analyze product usage, support tickets, and stakeholder feedback to guide prioritization.

• Develop concise reporting for stakeholders and leadership.

• Coordinate release notes using AI and collaborate with product marketing to prepare internal teams ahead of releases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or a similar role within a software or technology setting.

• Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft 365.

• Professional experience utilizing Claude or similar generative AI tools.

• Capability to craft effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated content, identify inaccuracies or gaps, and edit materials to a high professional standard.

• Strong understanding of the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).

• Ability to interpret data using Excel, SQL, or BI platforms.

• Comfortable engaging in technical discussions, even without being a developer.

• Knowledge of software product development and the relationship between feature decisions and business outcomes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience collaborating with Product Management, Development, Design, Quality Assurance, and business stakeholders.

• Ability to challenge stakeholder requests, uncover underlying needs, and evaluate whether proposed solutions effectively address the right problem.

• Critical mindset with the ability to analyze AI-generated outputs.

• Capacity to operate effectively amidst ambiguity while remaining organized, proactive, and focused on outcomes.

• CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent certification would be advantageous.
