Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Requirements Gathering: Facilitate interviews, workshops, and collaborative sessions with internal stakeholders and clients to identify business needs and translate them into precise, comprehensive requirements.

• Backlog Refinement: Collaborate with Product Owners to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifics in preparation for forthcoming sprints.

• Documentation: Create and uphold Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, workflows, and process diagrams that clearly articulate business needs.

• Translation of Needs: Transform complex business challenges into technical and functional requirements that development teams can confidently act upon.

• Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to person for teams seeking clarity on requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

• Prioritization Support: Assist Product Owners in evaluating business value, risk, dependencies, and effort when organizing the backlog.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Align Product Managers and other stakeholders around shared business objectives and delivery strategies.

• Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate communication among business, technical, and QA teams to ensure everyone is working towards the same goal.

• Ambiguity Resolution: Identify gaps, edge cases, and inconsistencies before they necessitate rework, resolving them through sound analytical judgment.

• Agile Participation: Actively engage in sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives as a vital member of the delivery team.

• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate issues to uncover underlying causes and recommend improvements to processes or systems.

• Standards & Best Practices: Ensure that business analysis efforts are consistent and of high quality across templates, tools, and teams, while also helping elevate the standards for others.

• QA Collaboration: Confirm requirements with QA, review test cases, and ensure that delivered functionality meets the business needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a similar role within a technology product or services organization.

• Proven ability to independently gather, analyze, and document functional requirements with minimal oversight.

• Experience leading or making significant contributions to backlog refinement on cross-functional teams, including the composition of detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Proficient with Agile tools and process documentation (such as process flows, data mapping, and use case modeling) as standard practice.

• Strong customer-facing communication skills, including experience managing sensitive or high-visibility discussions.

• Excellent analytical skills: comfortable navigating ambiguity to identify the true root cause of issues.
