Burmese<>English VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary related to the industry you will be interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts. Training will be provided.

• Ensure all messages are conveyed accurately and completely, without any additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Adhere to standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Hakha/Burmese."

• Over 1 year of experience in over-the-phone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not essential.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
