Burmese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Thailand.

📋 Description

• Professionally answer calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields; training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretations.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Burmese."

• Over 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Good understanding of medical terminology is a plus, but not essential.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
