Burmese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields - training will be provided.

• Accurately convey all messages in their entirety, without adding, omitting, or substituting any content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Implement professional standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader effectively.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Burmese."

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in over-the-phone interpretation at a recognized interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is an advantage (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
