Burmese Interpreter – VRI/OPI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for acquiring new professional certifications.

• Communicate with and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Karen/Burmese.'

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial, but not essential.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications related to the healthcare industry are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and respect for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
