Building Science Project Engineer – Property Condition Assessments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Perform evaluations of buildings to assess the condition of various building systems, offering recommendations for immediate repairs and utilizing observations alongside industry standards to determine future system replacements.

• Execute appropriate site reconnaissance, compile and organize data, and conduct project research (historical, regulatory, etc.).

• Author technical reports and prepare high-quality supporting documentation (maps, appendices, etc.).

• Plan, schedule, and monitor project timelines and milestones to ensure adherence to schedules, while effectively communicating project progress and any arising issues to the Project Manager and client.

• Deliver solid recommendations and solutions to the Project Manager and client, while considering the assessment's potential impact on the transaction process.

• Coordinate and respond to requests for modifications in project scope.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Architecture or a related Engineering Field (Civil, Mechanical, etc.).

• Over 3 years of experience in architecture, engineering, and/or construction/cost estimating.

• At least 2 years of experience conducting property inspections.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

• Possess a valid driver’s license and provide personal transportation to and from project sites.

• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.

• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously with a demonstrated ability to deliver quality results on time.

• Ability to foster strong relationships within a team environment.

• Familiarity with fundamental principles of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering, including the construction and maintenance of structures and systems.

• Comprehension of building component life cycles, system condition evaluations, and replacement costs.

• Exhibit strong skills in observation, deduction, and reasoning.
