This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• As a founding engineer on our new Browser Stack team, you will develop the custom browser and automation technology that powers Zyte's entire fetching stack, providing customers with unrestricted access to open web data.

• Engineer the core functionalities of our custom browser to overcome fingerprinting and anti-bot detection at the most fundamental levels of the stack.

• Expand the stealth capabilities across new engines and mobile profiles.

• Create our own automation client to manage and operate the browser at scale on the most challenging sites.

• Develop introspection and tracing tools that transform days of manual ban investigations into a quick readout in just minutes.

• Strengthen the release pipeline to ensure that browser updates are delivered without silent success-rate drops.

• Enhance browser performance to match the speed of leading headless and cloud browser platforms.

• Contribute to shaping the technical roadmap of the team and give back to the open-source browser development community.


⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in C++ and TypeScript.

• Prior involvement in contributing to the source code of open source browser projects like Chromium, WebKit, or Firefox.

• Solid understanding of Web APIs (for instance, canvas, audio, WebGL, WebRTC).

• Profound knowledge of operating systems, alongside familiarity with emulation and virtualization.

• Strong grasp of the TCP/IP stack, as well as HTTP and SOCKS protocols.

• Good understanding of containerization concepts (Docker, containerd, runc, K8s).

• Experience with Rust.

• Proven track record in building and deploying production applications.

• A good understanding of browser fingerprinting techniques.

• Bonus points for:

• Being a core committer to any major browser projects.

• Familiarity with libraries such as Puppeteer and Playwright, along with the underlying Chrome DevTools Protocol.

• Experience in building or replacing a CDP-based automation client.

• Knowledge of WebAssembly.

• Experience with mobile browser stacks and mobile device/browser profiles.

• Experience in developing any of the following: QEMU, WSL, Wine, VirtualBox.
