This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana.
• Assist in bridge design projects for various structure types, including both steel and concrete bridges, under the mentorship of senior engineers.
• Conduct structural analysis and design calculations following AASHTO LRFD specifications.
• Aid in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
• Employ structural analysis and design software such as Midas, LARSA, or SAP2000.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, including roadway, geotechnical, and construction experts.
• Help review project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with client and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in project meetings and actively participate in technical discussions.
• Provide assistance during construction phases, including addressing RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
• Keep abreast of industry standards, best practices, and new technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Over 6 years of experience in bridge or transportation structural engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design specifications.
• Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., Midas, LARSA, SAP2000).
• Familiarity with MDT standards and procedures is advantageous.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Montana is required; the ability to obtain PE licensure through reciprocity in additional Western States is preferred.
