This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Maintain precise financial records across various entities, including properties and operational companies.
• Record and classify transactions, invoices, and expenses in the correct accounts.
• Carry out monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, which include journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure that all financial information is consistently updated and systematically organized.
• Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations monthly, including for high-volume accounts.
• Verify that all transactions are accounted for and identify and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and balanced accounts across all entities.
• Support the integrity of financial records by ensuring proper transaction coding and reconciliation procedures.
• Organize and oversee recurring accounting workflows to guarantee timely completion.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect necessary documentation and address inquiries.
• Maintain structured and reliable financial data across various systems.
• Assist in establishing and enhancing repeatable bookkeeping processes and workflows.
• Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements in accounting operations.
• Implement automation and AI tools to enhance efficiency in recurring tasks.
• Support finance-related projects as the role develops, including gaining exposure to financial reporting and analysis.
• Acquire exposure to real estate financial analysis over time.
• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or similar finance-related positions.
• Strong grasp of fundamental bookkeeping principles (debits, credits, reconciliations).
• Being a Perito Contador is a significant advantage.
• Experience with bank and/or credit card reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of terms such as Conciliaciones Bancarias y de Tarjetas, Cierres, Ajustes, Balance General, Estado de Resultados, Cuentas por cobrar/pagar, Gastos/Ingresos, Libro Mayor, etc.
• Ability to accurately record and classify financial transactions.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (comfortable navigating and analyzing data).
• High attention to detail and precision.
• Strong organizational abilities in managing recurring tasks across multiple entities.
• Capability to review financial data and spot inconsistencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Excellent proficiency in English (C1–C2).
