This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Maintain the accuracy and timeliness of customers’ general ledgers by recording financial transactions diligently.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements with general ledgers, actively identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Input costs, expenses, and COGS into the accounting system with appropriate coding and classification.
• Oversee a portfolio of client accounts, which includes reconciliations, financial reporting, and monthly closing procedures.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and investigate any discrepancies that may arise.
• Engage with clients to secure missing information and address accounting issues.
• Generate income statements and balance sheets as required.
• Offer accounting support to internal stakeholders as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, regulations, and tax standards.
• Stay updated with current accounting and tax standards.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance bookkeeping processes and workflows.
• Maintain organized and precise financial records and documentation.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related role.
• Practical understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously is advantageous.
• Proficient in English and Portuguese.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero.
• Capability to accurately record financial transactions and maintain ledger entries.
• Understanding of profit and loss statements as well as balance sheets.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in data entry and record-keeping.
• Ability to identify and correct discrepancies in financial records.
• Clear and effective communication skills for client interactions and information gathering.
• Exceptional organizational abilities for systematic document management.
• Efficient time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple client tasks.
• Analytical skills for reconciling bank statements, credit card transactions, and financial records.
• Experience in a startup or rapidly scaling environment is a plus.
• Proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, adjusted for US daylight saving time.
