Bookkeeper

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring payments are matched to invoices and accounts are reconciled within QuickBooks Online.

• Manage commingled funds and facilitate multi-party distributions.

• Gather and maintain vendor W-9 documentation while preparing 1099 filings.

• Prepare and reconcile sales tax returns along with conducting workers’ compensation audits.

• Classify payroll transactions accurately and reconcile payroll reports effectively.

• Compute gross-ups and adjust sales figures to ensure precise reporting.

• Leverage QuickBooks Online functionalities, including reconciliations, memorized transactions, reporting, and audit trails.

• Familiarity with Karbon workflow software is advantageous.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional bookkeeping experience with multiple clients.

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online.

• Skilled in sales tax filings, payroll classification, and providing audit support.

• Experience in managing commingled funds and navigating complex accounting situations.

• Exceptional organizational abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to manage workload autonomously.

• Karbon experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Use of multiple monitors is required.

• Familiarity with United States payroll practices and sales tax, with a preference for California Sales Tax experience.
