This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Zambia.
• Offer strategic leadership by steering the organization's strategic direction and facilitating the execution of its strategy and priorities in Zambia.
• Ensure governance oversight, which includes aiding in the appointment of the Hub Director, monitoring organizational performance, and guaranteeing compliance with values, policies, and legal obligations.
• Evaluate and oversee annual budgets, financial performance, statutory compliance, and audited financial statements.
• Enhance partnerships and the organization's visibility through professional networks and engagement with government entities, development partners, the private sector, and other stakeholders.
• Aid in resource mobilization by identifying funding opportunities, making strategic connections, and advocating for organizational sustainability.
• Participate in quarterly Board meetings, the Annual Board Away Day, and additional meetings as necessary.
• Serve on a standing sub-committee and engage in meetings as required.
• Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the Hub Director and Leadership Team in between Board meetings.
• Act as an ambassador, representing Restless Development Zambia at selected meetings, events, and stakeholder engagements.
• Prepare for meetings, review Board documents, and contribute to discussions and decision-making processes.
• Strong professional experience.
• Solid understanding of the Zambian development landscape.
• Dedication to good governance and the vision of Restless Development Zambia.
• Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and integrity.
• Willingness to invest time, knowledge, and experience.
• Commitment to accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership.
• Ability to provide strategic insights and enhance the Board's governance role.
• Capability to expand relationships and influence across government, civil society, development partners, academia, the private sector, youth networks, and other stakeholders.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: risk management and audit; finance and accounting; legal and corporate governance; resource mobilization and strategy.
• Applications are particularly encouraged from individuals with experience on governing boards, audit committees, finance committees, or senior leadership teams in the public, private, or non-profit sectors.
