This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
• Deliver hands-on technical expertise to assist with building technology operations for designated client accounts
• Support the complete range of building technology assets, which includes BMS supervisory controllers, HVAC interface devices, and the necessary computing infrastructure
• Identify vulnerabilities in BMS/OT connected assets and formulate and validate remediation strategies
• Conduct software version testing, establish and validate baselines, and implement patching across BMS supervisory devices, HVAC controllers, and applications
• Roll out approved software updates and address issues that arise post-deployment
• Renew and manage certificates for BMS devices, HVAC controllers, and associated server infrastructure
• Assist with initiatives aimed at certificate automation
• Review and confirm device onboarding and offboarding across various networks
• Facilitate OT product onboarding through lab testing, proof-of-concept validation, documentation, and asset scanning
• Diagnose and restore BMS systems and services; review alerts and coordinate incident triage and resolution
• Monitor servers and storage, oversee application backups, and facilitate hardware replacements
• Address support requests from facility teams, property managers, and facility management partners
• Manage the health, stability, security, and compliance of BMS applications
• Oversee the application lifecycle from onboarding to retirement and decommissioning
• Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for application support, governance, enhancements, and risk management
• Manage vendor relationships for application maintenance and upgrades
• Support BMS controls cutovers, system startups, and the establishment of new user groups for construction and retrofit projects
• Collaborate closely with the Building Technology Coordinator and Operational Technology team
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Technical Management, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with BMS
• Expert-level knowledge of the Niagara Framework, including Tridium JACE/JENEsys
• Proficient in OT network infrastructure, including VLANs, LAN segmentation, DHCP/DNS, switch management, firewall rules, and secure remote access (VPN, ZTNA)
• Experience in identifying vulnerabilities and managing patches for OT/BMS assets
• Familiarity with tools such as Qualys, Tenable, or Phosphorus.io
• Comprehensive experience with the full software release lifecycle: testing, baselining, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Skilled in PKI certificate lifecycle management for building control systems and supporting servers
• Knowledge of compute infrastructure operations, including server monitoring, backup management, and disaster recovery testing
• Experience serving as a technical SME for BMS or OT application ownership, compliance, and lifecycle governance
• Proficient in submitting and tracking technology change requests in ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
• Familiar with OT/IoT security frameworks such as NIST SP 800-82
• Capable of navigating enterprise IT governance environments where OT/BMS intersects with corporate IT security policies
• Self-sufficient and able to manage independently
• Ability to communicate technical findings in a manner that is actionable for non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative and vendor-neutral approach when working with integrators, contractors, and managed service providers
• Must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Preferred: Certifications such as Tridium Niagara, GICSP, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
• Preferred: Experience with OT-specific asset discovery and vulnerability management platforms, preferably Phosphorus.io
