Blockchain Application Developer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the design and development of applications based on blockchain technology and decentralized applications (dApps).

• Aid in the creation, testing, and rollout of smart contracts utilizing Ethereum, Polygon, Hyperledger, or comparable technologies.

• Assist in the integration of blockchain services with web and mobile platforms via APIs and software development kits.

• Support applications that encompass digital identity, secure document verification, supply-chain traceability, asset tokenization, digital payments, and records management.

• Help with both front-end and back-end development for blockchain applications.

• Engage in code reviews, debugging, testing, and activities related to application security.

• Assist in managing blockchain networks, wallets, nodes, and development environments.

• Investigate emerging blockchain technologies, decentralized identity, interoperability standards, and Web3 architectures.

• Create technical documentation, system diagrams, prototypes, and demonstrations.

• Collaborate with software developers, data scientists, AI engineers, designers, and subject matter experts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of software development and programming principles.

• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Solidity, or similar programming languages.

• Knowledge of platforms such as Ethereum, Solidity, Web3.js, Ethers.js, Hardhat, Remix, Hyperledger, or comparable technologies.

• Experience with React, Node.js, REST APIs, and HTML/CSS is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, Docker, Visual Studio Code, Linux environments, and/or SQL or NoSQL databases is beneficial.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.

• Excellent attention to security, data integrity, and application reliability.

• Capability to quickly learn new technologies and work both independently and collaboratively.

• Preferred experience through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, research, or internships related to blockchain, smart contracts, decentralized applications, or full-stack development.

• A GitHub portfolio or example of a blockchain project is encouraged.

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field.
